Elect Steve Filipovic Independent MP for Victoria!

Hello Victoria thank you for visiting my site. I have been an evidence based issues advocate in Victoria since the late 80’s. I have always had a keen respect for our democracy, as when I was young I learned how my Dad had risked it all leaving his family behind in Yugoslavia. Holding on the bottom of a train that had stopped to take on water in the forested valley behind where he grew up. He managing to get through Austria and  into Germany passing through many check points the sniffer dogs didn’t find him. He did get caught when he climbed out just meters before freedom. Jailed to be sent back, he went on a hunger strike for 5 days, gaining sympathy from the guards he was released from custody to return home rest up and try again. This time knowing to stay hidden for a few more meters. Once safely inside Munich Station he turned himself in. His story made headlines across Europe and a Canadian philanthrandopist rewarded his deed by purchasing my late Dad, Momcilo some new clothes and a ticket on a ship to Canada! As a young boy I was perplexed as how someone could leave their family, when I asked he stated it was because we had Democracy, at home he could own a home but not the property is was built on. The West had a much better arrangement providing a much higher level of opportunity and security. I learned at that time Democracy was something to treasure.

I became involve with activism soon after graduation. I have always been drawn to demonstrations discovering what the people were advocating for and learning how to articulate those issues well to encourage others to come on board. This lead me to be involved in challenging the Multilateral Agreement on Investments and other Global Trade Deals that threatened our future. From there I was invited with the group to take over the annual Peace March in Victoria as many of previous volunteers running it had found opportunities working in the new NDP Government. I helped this effort for 15 years or so organizing the annual event that showcased dozens of grass root organizations championing the many issues that plaque our Nation. From this vantage point I saw climate alarm sweep through and undermine most if not all of our local grass root organizations. It wasn’t people against poverty any more it was people against the poverty of climate change. I saw shifting from advocating for their issue to working in CO2 alarm to earn credibility and I also saw them shift to supporting Parties instead of challenging Government. It was during this time I decided it was a good time to enter the political sphere.

I joined the Green Party and was a key campaigner for several Federal races in the early 2,000’s. I stood as the Candidate for the Provincial Green Party and won 12% in the 2006 election as a non-alarmist Green in Victoria-Hillside. The Greens are un-whipped so as long as you can articulate your issues you don’t have to tow the Party line. I continued advocating for the Green movement until the 2013 provincial election as a volunteer Pundit.  I managed an impressive feat developing a very popular Twitter account, the only one on BC Poli’s Twitter Sphere that was regularly re-posted by all the other Parties. Most orbs stuck to sharing from posts made by their allies, I had a keen understanding of the issues and of the Parties actions over the past few decades that many people from all stripes enjoyed my context and promoted it. You can see me here leading the Red team! My orb is the larger red one center low. The White team was the BC NDP and the media, the Blue was the lib/cons coalition and the yellow was BC Teachers Federation. Unfortunately after a period of time the resolution of the image decayed, the political information was too valuable to leave in its higher resolution form. I am guessing the image had a best before date. Anybody with a higher resolution image they could share I would be most appreciative and it would reveal my efforts paid off in spades!

On the Day after the election which the Liberals won, the largest White dot was asked ‘What happened?’ the answer was ‘SF happened’ something I am terribly proud of, not that the Liberals had won, I roasted them as much as I roasted the NDP and for the same reasons. I had managed to erode the illusions the NDP had used to sell themselves to the public. Many Party supporters don’t know what their parties actually do. Its not what you would hope its really just the same old same old over and over again. Corporations get service society gets plundered.

During that time I had run for Mayor in Victoria winning the Monday endorsement for Mayor in 2008. Largely because of how the NDP Mayor was appealing the Charter Challenge that exposed BC Services to be unreasonable. Instead of embracing the decision and addressing the issues raised in the trial Dean Fortin appealled the case brought against the City and lost by the Liberal Mayor.  He didn’t win the appeal but got off on a technicality. Since it was now OK to sleep in the parks from dawn til dusk, the street community would be required to launch another charter challenge something well beyond their capabilities. The Case can be found here. Charter Challenge within the 112 page document holds the keys to getting our City Parks and Streets back, remediating the short coming to make the services reasonable as our Constitution affords us is the path to returning dignity to those most affected by poverty and returning our streets to being safe and secure as they were seemingly decades ago. Its been 17 years since the Charter Challenge so it appears the powers that be like it this way.

After the 2013 election I started asking more question about climate to other members in the Green Party and discovered they can’t articulate in any fact based manner why they lament the sky? I have been drifting away from them ever since. I started exposing climate alarm as a farce soon after with more gusto! The late Dr Wudeen a former UN ambassador for the US and University Professor also involved in challenging the tenets of co2 alarm recognized my efforts and invited me to join a twitter thread that has run for over a decade with 40 other champions of calming context. Some are NASA scientists others are specialists in their fields including the guy who invented modern LCD screens.  We have been adding context exposing the nonsense and agenda of CO2 alarm, helping my account to be in the top percentile of retweeted accounts.

Less than 3% of accounts got retweeted more than mine. I am not a star, just a guy with a keen wit and a deep understanding of the issues we face. Time has eroded my reach, Social media platforms now serve those who pay and thwart the exposure of those who share context counter to the narratives. My account has been shadow banned for many years and I may be operating in a Silo when I post. I was also out right kicked off the platform for sharing factual context about Ivermectin in our greatest time of need. This destroyed me, our Democracy was failing us all in plain sight.

Its with all this in mind that I am stepping forward to represent Victoria in Parliament. The insanity of choking our energy supply due to scary stories must end and the plight of authoritarian medical practice must end too! If not mentioned in the hall of Parliament our Government will continue to serve the agenda’s and not Canadians. Help me get into Parliament so I can raise your voice for reasonable energy sources and uses and Evidence based medicines instead of Agenda based medicines. The Parties won’t advocate on your behalf and you know it.
